Yarns n Threads of Love Ministry

Sewn, Knitted, Crochet

Our Heritage and Legacy

The presence of God was instilled in our hearts and lives from the time we were born.  We were taught by our great-grandma, our grandma and our Mom to work for the good of others.

Our Grandma started a business, Mrs. Blow's Sewing Center.  She sold fabric, sewing supplies and sewing machines.  She started with a small store on 3rd Avenue in Fargo, ND.  Her business grew to a much larger store on First Avenue North.  She went on to start a store in the Tempo Mall, Moorhead, Minnesota and in Aberdeen, South Dakota.  In the late 60s she moved her store to Broadway in Fargo.

Our Great-Grandma, had a small coffe shop in the same building as Mrs. Blow's on First Avenue North.  She was known for her caramel rolls made from scratch.  She lived over in the Pearl Avenue area in Fargo and at 5:00 a.m. every week day morning she would walk through Island Park to start her baking and cooking at the Coffe Shop.  She would always have great lunches and desserts, everything from scratch.

In the late 60s, we moved back to Fargo.  Our Mom worked for her Mom.  She had a gift for assisting those planning their weddings.  She always knew what kind of fabric would work the best for certain patterns.  She made special order head pieces and veils.  Mom could sew anything.  All of her 8 kids were handsomely dressed in her creations.  She loved to sew.

Eventually, all of us older children worked at Grandma's store in some capacity.  We have such fond memories of our time spent working with Grandma, even the style shows.

It is our responsibility to carry on the legacy started by the strong women in our Family.  Some of us have the needlework passion, some of us the hard work.  Whatever we have, we come together to  bring the fruits of labors to those in need in our communities.
